the scriptorum

For Karen
by
Rachel Sutherland

Old friendships
edges smoothed
by the tides of time
like spring air
breath Life into living.

Winters snow
finds them sleeping but not gone,
Summers sun
finds the laughter
and shares times passing.

Such friends
like autumns faeries
are hard to find
gifts for few.

I'm lucky for I
found one and
my autumns fairy
is you.
