Golden Sunset
Meditation
Sit or lie quietly and tell your body
to relax by sending your thoughts to your toes and working your way up to the top of your
head instructing each set of muscles to relax as you proceed. Once the body is calm,
slowly allow a picture to form in your mind's eye. See yourself sitting peacefully and
comfortably at the edge of a body of water at sunset. It is warm, and as the sun sets over
the water, it appears so large that it covers most of the horizon. Stare into the creamy
yellow sun and feel its warmth. Inhale through your nose, visualizing the air you inhale
yellow like the sun. Exhale through your mouth, visualizing the exhalation as a beautiful
purple cloud drifting off toward the sun. Continue to inhale yellow and exhale purple for
a few more breaths, then just remain quiet for a few minutes. Allow yourself to feel a
warm breeze flowing clockwise around you. Its gentle movement will enable you to more
completely relax and enjoy the freedom of spirit you seek. After these moments of
relaxation, slowly return your attention to your breathing. Make each breath a little
deeper as you become more aware of your physical body. Gently move your toes and your
fingers, and when you feel ready, open your eyes. Allow your feeling of heightened
awareness to clear your mind, your body, and your spirit.
